We purchased QB Desktop 2021 through Amazon, details are below:

It was never mentioned, that it is a subscription. But suddenly, we no longer able to access QB, the error says that subscription has expired and we need to renew our billing information online. But we never had any online account for QB

Resellers may offer subscription-based or one-time licenses for QuickBooks Desktop. Did you recently purchase the program? If that's the case, we'll want to reach out to Amazon's support regarding the details of the license, and see if they can replace it. We can also ask them about the account details if any.
However if Amazon is unable to check the license details, we'll want to contact our support. One of our support agents will be able to help you with the license details and ensure you'll be able to use the program again.

I contacted support through chat and I was told that I just need to renew
I thought it as a one-time payment when I bought it through Amazon
You may have 2 options:
1. Purchase a new subscription license for QB Desktop 2023 to upgrade your version.
2. Purchase a one time license for QB Desktop 2021 Premier and downgrade your company file.
If you are not located in the US, you can purchase the license through a partner/reseller without a credit card.
