I'm not sure I need to explain any more, but ever since upgrading to R7 (a few days ago), when I try to record a Merchant Service Deposit that is from an online statement payment (not an invoice), QB crashes. Why can't Intuit release a new update without creating 15 new bugs?
Hello there, jasonluros.
I'm here to ensure your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac stops crashing so you'll be able to continue recording your statement payments.
If the issue only happens to one company file, you can run the Verify and Rebuild tool to help fix it.
To verify your data, here's how:
If there are problems with your company file, you'll have to rebuild it through these steps:
For more details about the steps above, feel free to browse this article: Verify and Rebuild data.
However, if it's happening to all companies, then you can run Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using clean install to perform a mini repair on your software.
Additionally, I've added this article for more information and detailed steps on how to backup your company file: Restore a Back up of your Company File.
Let me know if you encounter any other issues when running QuickBooks and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Take care and have a good one.
There are no errors showing up when I verify my data using Verify Data.
Also, for some reason, the "source" is listed as "Invoice" for the problematic payment, even though it was an online statement payment (not an invoice). There is also no Customer listed (it's blank). How do I fix this? Every time I hit record, QuickBooks 2021 crashes.
I did try creating a new company file, and was able to record the payment as an invoice payment, but not as a statement payment (which is what it is). Regardless, I'm not going to start over with a new company file, so that's not an acceptable solution.
Hi @jasonluros - I work on the QuickBooks Mac development team. Could you please reach out to us via QuickBooks menu > QuickBooks Feedback and reference this forum post along with the details of your issue. I've already made others on the team aware, and we'll be able to more easily follow-up with you after you submit through the feedback portal. Thank you!
I have submitted feedback using the Quickbooks menu item "Quickbooks Feedback" about this bug.
I think that some change has been made in the Quickbooks Record Merchant Service Deposit functionality that has broken it (causing the application to crash), and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with customer statement payments. Invoice payments seem to work fine. This seems to be related to an earlier issue with Payments from back in May.
