QB Desktop 2024 keeps resetting the QB DataBase Service

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've performed and the screenshot you shared, davis.

I'm here to ensure you can access QuickBooks Database Service in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2024.

The possible reason for QBDT reset issues may be due to a damaged QuickBooks Database Service. In this case, we can perform the solution outlined below to resolve this issue. To proceed, ensure you're accessing as an admin to both your Windows operating system and QuickBooks account.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. On your keyboard, press the Windows key+R to bring up the Run window.
  3. Type services.msc, then press Enter.
  4. Right-click the service that matches your version, then choose Properties.

    QuickBooks 2020: QuickBooksDB30
    QuickBooks 2019: QuickBooksDB29
    QuickBooks 2018: QuickBooksDB28

  5. Go to the Log On tab, then set the service to This Account
Note: Do not select Local System. Only some set-ups allow it to work on Local System.
  6. Delete qbdataserviceuserXX

a.) On your keyboard, press Windows key+R to open the Run window.
b.) Type Control Panel, then hit OK.
c.) Choose User Accounts, then Remove user account.
d.) Select the qbdataserviceuserXX that matches your version, then Delete.

  7. Relaunch QuickBooks.
Note: If hosting was started, turn it off then turn it back on again. If hosting wasn't started, turn it on.
  8. When a prompt asking to run Database Server Manager pops up, click OK.
  9. Open the Database Server Manager and scan the file. This recreates the qbdataserviceuser.

If the issue persists, we can use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix common QBDT issues.

Furthermore, I'll add this article to help you repair company file issues and detailed information on hosting and multi-user mode:

QB Desktop 2024 keeps resetting the QB DataBase Service

So, when this started, I upgraded from Desktop 2020 to 2023. It has continued to Quickbooks Desktop 2024. So a brand new database service has been created. I will try the other articles you put in here.
