Buy nowWhere can I find a copy of Qb for Mac Desktop 2024, so I can upgrade my MacBook Air laptop to the newest OS? (I'm currently running QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 Version V19.1.16 R17.3 with macOS Sonoma Version 14.5)
Or, does anyone k now if Intuit has plans to release a 2026 version? I'm looking forward to upgrading my desktop version without trying to get upsold constantly for the online subscription version. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, DanLA. Using a latest version can significantly simplify and optimize your workflow.
With that, you can find a copy of QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2024 on our official Download and Upgrade page to help update your MacBook Air to the latest OS. Before proceeding, kindly review the system requirements to ensure a smooth transition.
As for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2026, we don’t have a specific release schedule at this time. However, we’ll make sure to notify you promptly once more information becomes available.
If you need assistance or have any other questions, feel free to reach out. The Community folks is here to help.
I don't think they will release QB Desktop 2027 this year except for Enterprise only. If you still need to find a QB Desktop 2024 Mac license, you should contact Fiat Lux. If you're lucky, you can get a legit license from them.
I just saw the release of macOS Tahoe 26.2. Which version of QB for Mac Desktop works with that?
Thank you for bringing this up, @DanLA. It’s always a smart idea to double-check compatibility before upgrading your macOS or your QuickBooks software.
While newer operating systems may work, compatibility with macOS Tahoe 26.2 has not been formally confirmed yet, as it is a recent release.
Rest assured, Intuit is actively testing and verifying functionality with the latest macOS, and we'll provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
For now, you can review our system requirements to stay informed about supported operating systems in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Thanks @Jelayca V .
Thanks for the system requirements link. Where can I find them for QB Desktop for Mac 2020?
I haven't seen any reports of issues from users of QB Desktop 2019 or later here. You shouldn't have any issues.
Dear @SIAB,
so people are using QB Mac for Desktop 2019 perfectly fine with the latest macOS Tahoe 26.2 ? That's great news! I'm worried about even upgrading to the newest Sonoma of 14.8.3 (from 14.5) with my copy of QB Mac for Desktop 2020. So you think I'll be fine?
It should be. If you encounter any errors, you can post it here again.
You're welcome, @DanLA.
I'm glad the system requirements link provided by my colleague @Jelayca was helpful. Unfortunately, since QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac 2020 has been discontinued and is now outdated, its system requirements are no longer officially available on our website.
However, I recommend visiting our system requirements page for the current version of QBDT for Mac. This will help you stay informed about supported operating systems and ensure compatibility with your subscription moving forward.
Alternatively, your IT team may also assist by checking your system’s specifications to determine if it could support that version.
