QB POS 2018 Held Receipts

Thank you for posting in the Community. I'm here to help figure out why sales are moving into Held Receipts.

We'll need to recreate your sales transactions to determine where the problem came from. Before doing anything, let's start with creating a backup file to prevent data loss.

Here's how:

1. Click the File tab at the top.
2. Select Back Up Data.
3. Choose a backup location.
4. Click Backup.
5. Click Finish.

Once done, you can now recreate the sales transactions and see if it still happens. If the problem continues, we'll need to proceed with repairing your QuickBooks Point of Sale.

There is not a way to turn off Held Reciepts.

Typically, you will see them auto-held if the employee rings up an item,

 Then changes to the items list to look up something, then opens a new Make a Sale to continue.

The first thing I would do is go under Windows on the top menu, then Close All to make sure you do not have something hanging around.

When they are ringing up, if they flip to the items list, they can use the Window tab to go back to the existing receipt instead of hitting Make a Sale again.
