QB Server for Mac crashing each time when closing the server program.

I have been experiencing this problem of the Mac Server crashing when closing the application with QB 2022 in MacOs Monterrey. It was happening so now and then, thus not every time.

Yesterday I upgraded to QB 2024 (ver. 23.0.2.524 R3.1) and to MacOs Sonoma 14.2.1. Now it is happening every single time when closing the server. This with 3 files loaded on the server. The MacOs shoots an error report.

From Quickbooks itself all is working fine.

Hope a solution can be found soon.

QB Server for Mac crashing each time when closing the server program.

I know that it's significant to fix this issue, Angel77877. Let me chime in and help you resolve this so you can open and close the software seamlessly.

Since QuickBooks Tool Hub is unavailable for Mac, I suggest performing a clean installation of the software. This way, the installation files that were left behind will be removed, and reinstalled the program in a clean slate. Before doing so, you need to uninstall it on your device. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Close the QuickBooks Desktop. If you're unable to close it, you can press the Command + Option + Esc keys together.
  2. Navigate to the Finder menu situated at the top left corner of the Mac desktop, then select Applications.
  3. Drag the QuickBooks icon to the Trash.

Next is to remove the PLIST files from both User and System to revert all preferences to their default settings and ensure that all data are free from errors. You can refer to the steps below to perform this on your end:

For User PLIST files

  1. Go to the Finder menu located at the top left corner of the Mac desktop.
  2. Select the Go option followed by long pressing the Options button on your keyboard.
  3. Select the Library option, then select the Preferences folder.
  4. Locate the PLIST files present next to the QuickBooks name.
  5. Once found, move the files to the trash bin, and clear the trash folder to complete the process.

For System PLIST Files

  1. Go to the Finder menu located at the top left corner of the Mac desktop.
  2. Tap on the Macintosh HD option.
  3. Select the Go option followed by long pressing the Options button on your keyboard.
  4. Select the Library option, then select the Preferences folder.
  5. Locate the PLIST files present next to the QuickBooks name.
  6. Once found, move the files to the trash bin, and clear the trash folder to complete the process.

Once done, you can start downloading the software to reinstall it on your device.

QB Server for Mac crashing each time when closing the server program.

Dear Adrian_A,

Thank you for your response, but it seems you are referring to solutions pertaining to Windows. Is there such thing as a QB Tool Hub for Mac?

The problem is NOT with the program nor the files, it is with the SERVER program which crashes WHEN CLOSING IT, not during usage.
