QB Support

I have been receiving calls that I owe more money for support for my QB Desktop Pro Plus 2023.  I pay subscriptions for enhanced payroll and intuit data protection.  I have never had an annual bill due in May for what they are saying I need to pay to receive.  I asked about that that and they said there was a grace period.  I have had this for 10 years.  I am pasting a copy of the email I received.  Can someone tell me if this is legit?

This is a list of services they say I need to pay extra for:

Merchant Services
* Filing tax forms
* Payroll support
* Payroll updates
* Emails
* Online banking and Bank Feeds
* Web Connector
* Unlimited Support
* Pay 1099 contractors
* Reconciliation
* Data back up & Upgrades
* Track Sales tax
* Security Updates
* Accountant’s Copy File Transfer (ACFT) service
* Credit card processing, eCheck Solution, Online Payment Processing
* Manage Bills & accounts payable
* Invoicing from QuickBooks

QB Support

Thank you for sharing the details of the email you received, Lorraine. Let's ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you in verifying the list of services being mentioned.

Before that, I'll walk you through where you can see your subscription information and how to report possible suspicious emails.

Please note that there may be periods when your plan has extra services that need to be paid. To verify what those are, I recommend visiting the Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs) where you can review charges and billing information coming from and why.

On the other hand, there are a few things to look for if you’re not sure an email came from Intuit or if it's legit. Please note that our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com. If you suspect emails are not from QuickBooks, here's how you can report them:

  1. Go to Intuit Online Security Center.
  2. Select Go to security notices.
  3. If you don't find a similar email within the Security notices, select Report a suspicious email to file a report.

However, I still suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They're the best support group for such inquiries as they can request account information. This way, they're able to verify the email you received and the extra services being tied to your subscription billing.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Click the Help icon, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a short description of your issue about the extra charges you need to pay, then select Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account and choose Continue. Then, Continue with my account.
  6. We'll email you a single use code and enter this and select Continue.
  7. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Lastly, you can read this article to see different guidelines for effectively managing your business using QuickBooks: QuickBooks Desktop Help articles.

Please let me know if you have more queries about handling fraudulent charges or suspicious emails. You're more than welcome to come back here in the Community space, Lorraine. Keep safe!
