I am using QBD 2020 Prem
I was on version 30.0.4014.0 and QB was working fine. Then I wanted to setup our Capital One CC for online downloads but I got a popup that I needed to update QB to the latest version. I did that whilst in QB selecting Help, Update QB then letting it download all the patches.
After restart I now have the problem that after entering my password, then, as soon as the the desktop is displayed QB shuts down without any error messages. I had not selected anything yet.
It happened several times. I restarted Windows, the QB again, but again QB just shuts down as soon as the desktop is displayed.
I have W11 running on a VM, thus, I can confirm that it has something to do with the R15 patch. If I restore a VM with QB R14 QB is running just fine, but I can't download the Capital One transactions.
Has anybody experienced the same problem? I have not found any info about this issue in the forum.
Thanks for any reply.
I ran the QBToolsHub Quick Fix my Program, which did not resolve the issue. Next I ran QB Program Diagnostics Tool, it downloaded some .NET and C+ files, but when restarting QB it quit again. The 2nd time QB was running, but then third and fourth time QB quick again right after the desktop got displayed.
Thanks for posting to the Community about the QuickBooks Desktop 2020 Premier R15 update, @gerdgoebel.
I understand what you've been through after running several fixes. In your case, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support team. They have tools to pull up your account and see what's causing QuickBooks to shut down after getting the latest update release.
