QBO Report drill down does not allow backtracking

The drill down feature works after I've run a basic report.  Balance sheet or Profit and Loss.  Then I go to hit the return arrow or "Back to Report Summary" and I get a report with just the subtotal/total lines.  This only started happening in the last month or two and I've been using QBO for 4 years now.  Any ideas?  Anyone else notice this issue?

QBO Report drill down does not allow backtracking

Hi there, @FMM2020.

I'd love to help you with your concern about backtracking the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO). But can you please provide a screenshot of the subtotal/total lines showing after clicking the Back to Report Summary option? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

QBO Report drill down does not allow backtracking

Hi Mark.  Just as I was thinking I imagined the issue it popped up today.  Once the collapse screen appears I have to go back to the report screen and start again.  See attached.

QBO Report drill down does not allow backtracking

Thanks for getting back and providing a screenshot of your concern,  @FMM2020.

I know how you would want to get this resolved so you can get back to working order in QuickBooks Online (QBO), and I'm here to guide you in performing some troubleshooting steps to sort this out.

The browser can occasionally be poorly configured, which leads to issues. I suggest opening a different browser or a private window to isolate the issue.

Here's how to activate incognito mode in some of the most common online browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you can finally backtrack, it's safe to say that the browser has caused it. This can be fixed by clearing your cache and cookies.

Additionally, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn how to get the most out of your financial reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'm looking forward to getting this resolved. Feel free to leave a reply if you require further assistance with using the drill-down feature in QBO. The Community team always has your back. Keep safe.
