QBPOS) search bar customization and adding a products as a set

Hello, we use QBPOS v19, and I have 2 questions. It would be great if you could answer them.

Question 1

We sell planters. Some planters come as a set (small, medium, large), and while we prefer to sell them as a set, sometimes we need to sell just one size. If the small size is $5, medium is $10, and large is $15, the total comes to $30. However, we offer a discount if customers buy a set, so the set price is $25. In this case, could you advise on the best way to add these products in quickbook pos?

Question 2.

We sell houseplants, and sometimes we receive the same plants from different nurseries. When we type the name of the plants into the search bar in "make a sale," it displays multiple products with the names that include additional information, like ADU, which we don’t need to see. I wonder if we can change this to show us the vendor name or vendor code instead?

Thank you.

Thanks for posting in the Community, @BESTinCA. Let me guide you to the process of your concerns and route you to the appropriate support.

For your first question, there's a need for us to group the items to include small, medium, large, and discounted items.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Help menu, then go to the Index tab.
  2. Search Assembly, then click Assembly Items.
  3. Choose Add and Build assembly items. (Ensure all component items are added to inventory items individually). Hit Add.
  4. Enter a name in the item name field.
  5. Select Assembly in the Item Type field, then Save.
  6. Select the Assembly button next to the item Type field and hit Edit Assembly.
  7. In the Scan or Enter item information drop-down box, scan or type the item to search and add. (Specify the quantity of the component item.)
  8. Select the Qty button to enter another number, then repeat to add all items in the Assembly.
  9. Click Build at the top of the window, specify the number of assemblies you wish to build, and select Build.
  10. Hit OK and Save.

Moreover, regarding the second question, we're unable to determine whether to show the vendor name or code. In this case, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payments Support, for they have the appropriate tools that best fit your concern, such as showing the vendor name or code.
