Quick POS Multistore Block Sales for Negative Stock Item

Hi there, @Adi2. I’m here to impart information about preventing sales when you have negative stock items.

The option to prevent QuickBooks Point of Sale from posting sales when the inventory stock is zero or negative isn't possible.

I recognize your need for this feature. No worries, I’ll be sharing your post with our management team so they can take a look and might consider this idea as part of the future enhancements.

Here’s a guide to get more tips about handling your company's income: Sales and customers. It has everything you need to track invoices, sales receipts, and other sales forms.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Indeed this is a feature that will aid in our business process to be more streamlined. As an alternative, is it possible to have an alert when stock is low?

Thank you for getting back to us, @Adi2.

Let me share some information about setting an inventory reminder once you have low stocks.

You can set a reminder once your stocks are low. This way, you'll get an alert to reorder products below the number of the reorder point set.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Inventory menu.
  2. Choose Reminders.
  3. Select Reorder Items Reminders. It will show items that are below the reorder point set in inventory.

When there are Inventory reminders that require your attention, Point of Sale will notify you by posting a message on the home page's bulletin board.

I also recommend checking how to create, edit, and delete Point of Sale items. It will give you more tips on managing inventory items.

Quick POS Multistore Block Sales for Negative Stock Item

Since this question was first asked, has there been any feedback from management as to whether this feature is being discussed?

Has this issue... Having POS block sales for negative stock items? been discussed with management? Is it being considered for a future enhancement?  Maybe make it an option at the company level.

Thanks

Rob

Thanks for joining the conversation, @Robp475.

I can see the importance of having the feature to prevent sales when there's zero or negative stock in inventory items. Currently, that option is unavailable in QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS).

For now, we can share this valuable insight with our Product Development team by going to the Help menu. You'll find a Send Feedback link that lets you submit your comments and product suggestions, or report a program bug. This way, they might consider adding this option to our product updates in the future.

You can also visit the Customer Feedback page to track the status of your suggestions.

In addition, you might encounter issues with matching amounts in your inventory report for both QuickBooks Desktop and Point of Sale. You can refer to this article for possible reasons: Inventory valuation amounts in Point of Sale and QuickBooks Desktop do not match.

Please don't hesitate to come back to this thread if you have additional clarifications about inventory items. We're always around to help. Have a great day!
