QuickBooks 2022 is the slowest, quirkiest QuickBooks I've ever used and I've used ever single version since 1995!
I'm here to turn around your QuickBooks experience by helping you, labelsig.
There are a few possible reasons for the unexpected behavior or performance issues with QuickBooks Desktop. Here are some:
To get past this hurdle, let's use the QuickBooks Diagnostic Tool to automatically identify and fix .NET Framework, MSXML, and C++
issues. Here's how:
Once done, try opening QuickBooks again and see if it works this time. However, if you're getting the same issue, I'd recommend following the remaining solution in this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open, has stopped working, or not responding
Please let me know how this goes. I'll be happy to lend you a helping hand whenever you needed me. Have a great day!
How big is your file size?
This install is new, so QB is definitely updated and current.
The computers (We have QB22 Enterprise version installed on 4 workstations and 1 server) exceed min requirements and all computers experience same slow performance. Considering this is a 64bit version you would think performance would be better, but so far it is not faster than previous version.
I ran the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool it did not help.
None of the computers operating systems are damaged.
Honestly, I've been installing, maintaining and operating QB since 1995, I know quite a bit of what to do with setting up, repairing and maintaining QB and my opinion is that QB22 is still new and bugs will slowly be fixed along the way. I experienced issues like this on almost every new QB install we've ever done. I just wanted to topic about it so that QB can be made aware and begin to work on it.
The file is almost 3GB but we are on QB22 Enterprise and for Enterprise its not a big file.
Same file size as previous 32bit version we upgraded from and it was faster.
For what it's worth, my experience with 2022 is the opposite. It seems to be the fastest version of QB installed on my computers (I have many versions installed, for support reasons.) It loads fast and when upgrading large files from older versions of QuickBooks it's very fast.
3GB is a large file, even for Enterprise. However, file size isn't evenly related to speed, which is also related to the contents of the file. If it's full of simple transactions like banking and credit card transactions, and the lists are small, it can be very fast. On the other hand, if it's full of complex AR and AP transactions and has large lists, various features can be much slower, including reporting and recording transactions. That noted, I don't know why QuickBooks 2022 would be slower than 2021. Except for the transition to 64-but, they're almost the same.
I wish we were experience the same, but we are not. QB22 is slower than previous version so far with our experience across all the workstations we installed it on including the server (in multi user). Yes, install and file conversion was fast, but operating QB on a day to day basis is not, especially emailing invoices, po's etc... The ship manager is also very slow and exporting to pdf or excel is slow as well. There are also differences between QB22 and other 32bit versions, you can see it in how it handles emails. When you email a invoice now, the invoice pop's up behind all windows and takes a long time to "send" and transition back to full QB control. This is not how QB21, or any other versions, handled emails hence there is something different and this is just one example.
I too have recently installed QB22 and it is completely up to date, ran QB Tool etc as outlined above. Computers running as workstations are more than capable. There is a SIGNIFICANT PAUSE between every click of the mouse and between windows. I have been using QB since it was PeachTree and this is by far the worst version I have ever used. This is advertised as being faster and more user-friendly, yet the masses are having the same issues. I would down grade but that's not possible as they no longer support previous versions.
Customer support is script reading so to get anyone in actual tech support is atrocious. This needs to be addressed ASAP as it seems there are more people having issue than those that are not.
