I’m here to help fix the challenges you’ve encountered upon updating QuickBooks Desktop.
At the moment, there is no other similar concern shared in the QuickBooks Community page.
Let’s first make sure that QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Once updated, end all the running QuickBooks components on your Task Manager.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Go to your Task Manager then highlight all applications that start with .qb, QuickBooks, or Intuit.
- At the bottom. Hit End Task.
- Close the Task Manager window.
Once done, when you reopen QuickBooks and open a company file you’ll need to suppress the Desktop. This troubleshooting tool, help us determine if the root cause is User, Data, Application, or System.
To suppress the Desktop while starting QuickBooks, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the Ctrl key.
- Double click your QuickBooks program icon.
- Hold the Ctrl key until you have the no Company Open window.
To suppress the Desktop while opening a Company File, follow these steps:
- Select the desired company file from the No Company Open window.
- Press and hold the Alt key.
- Click the Open button.
- Hold the Alt key until the login window appears.
- Release the Alt key.
- Enter your username and password.
- Press and hold the Alt key.
- Click OK and hold the Alt key until your file is completely open. QuickBooks will display a blank desktop.
