LIMITED TIME 90% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowI have been using Quickbooks for our HOA since 2017 and for the most part it works well. Recently it has started requiring me to sign in or it will apparently stop working. I am not a fan of this and see no valid reason for it. I will let you know if I need something or want to upgrade, otherwise I do not want to be bothered by this request ever so often, that is totally rediculious. Please fix this issue! I just want a simple product that works with no BS.
They forced this update to some outdated versions. In my case, I'm still using QBD 2018 and have to login with my Intuit ID at certain times, unless we turned off our internet connection. This is their new policy and I'm sure they will say it's for our own data security reasons. Imho, this is one way to track how many users are still using the outdated versions.
Hello, ReattaRidge.
Aside from Fiat's response, I'd like to chime in and give some more details about the sign in process when opening QuickBooks Desktop.
To solidify Fiat's input, we updated QuickBooks Desktop and require users to sign in to the program. As they previously pointed out, this is for security and data protection purposes.
Although, you can stay logged in to the company file within a certain amount of time without entering your credentials again.
This option has certain things to consider, so I'd recommend reading this article for more details: Stay logged in to QuickBooks company file (sign in without entering your password).
The steps on how to do it are also outlined in the article.
I'd also suggest sending feedback to our developers regarding your thoughts about the sign in process. They'll review your suggestions and consider them for future improvements in QuickBooks Desktop.
