Buy now & saveI have a client I have remote access of the 2023 QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and today I got a Warning stating "The system Theme settings have changed. You much restart your application to apply those setting." My client has restarted the computer 2 times and I'm setting getting the same issue my computer. How can this be fixed? I can't even see the desktop. Once I close out of the 2 Warning boxes, all I have is a black screen and no toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
I appreciate you sharing your query here today, bjp2poodles. I'll help provide input to resolve system theme settings error in QuickBooks Desktop.
I've come across other users who managed to utilize the compatibility administrator utility in Windows. This provides an easy fix to a program that isn't running seamlessly under Windows.
Additionally, if you've mapped QuickBooks Desktop remotely with other terminal server or hosting provider, you'll want to reach out to them to verify your Windows operating system or Windows registry so they can provide detailed fixes to rectify this error.
I'll also include this reference you can utilize whenever you require information for terminal servers: Support limitations for Windows Terminal Server.
Just keep me posted in this forum if there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing tasks in your QuickBooks file. Stay safe.
Thank you for input. I'm not sure how to utilize the compatibility administrator utility in Windows. Can you give me more information on what/where I need to look for or do?
Thank you.
Thank you for getting back to the Community, bjp2poodles.

Thank you for asking. Yes, but! I was on a three-way call with QuickBooks Desktop support for approximately 3 hours and then my client had to get his IT person involved and I believe he was on the phone with QBD support for another length of time. My client is not happy. I know now that if I have a problem again, get my client's IT person involved IMMEDIATELY!!!
FIY what I found for The Compatibility Administrator did seem to help. Also, I didn't see any instructions for Windows 11. But thank you for trying!!!
