I have a serious issue with QuickBooks. I'm using Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions: Manufacturing and Wholesale 19.0 desktop. Whenever I backup my company file, I have to try to rebuild it, due to errors. They are all caused by inventory items in locations with quantity on hand that do not 'agree.' They only place I can see this demonstrated is in the Current Availability screen versus the Inventory Center 'Bins' tab. They do not agree on the parts in question.
I have gone through the transactions for these parts, and they are all correct, pulling from the correct location at the correct date, etc. I have tried making adjustments or inventory transfers to correct the issue (Current Availability seems to be the correct version of events) but when I do that, it of course messes up the other screen - they still do not agree.
I spent 2.5 hours today online with my Intuit extra special paid support team, and they couldn't tell me how to fix it, and could only 'send me links to articles' which I can find myself, and have no relevance to my current problem.
Anyone out there have any ideas for me? I've attached a screen shot, the info on the screen is for the same part number, in two different areas of QB. You can see that the NET quantity on hand is the same, but locations and amounts in the locations are not. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I've got 141 issues like this.
Good day, kate111.
I understand that you need to fix the error when you backup your company file and I appreciate that you tried rebuilding it.
I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support Team again for further investigation. They can report this if needed since all the steps you've done doesn't work.
You'll want to check these articles about inventory:
I'll be here if you have more questions. Stay safe!
How big is your file size? Try create a backup file and restore it with another name, condense it or install the trial license of QBD 2021 to see any difference.
I spent 2.5 hours on line with the customer support team yesterday, and they left me where I am, suggesting they had no idea how to fix it! I'm super frustrated, perhaps it was just the person who helped me yesterday, I might try again today.
How would this fix the inventory issue?
Thanks for your prompt response, @kate111.
The suggestion that Fiat Lux - ASIA provided may fix the issue by creating a backup file and then restore it with a different name, condense the data when the file is too large.
Then, you can restore your company file in the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop 2021 to see if there are differences that may fix your inventory in the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop.
I've added some articles for your reference with our trial QuickBooks Desktop versions and information:
