Buy nowHello,
My office has a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite for accepting credit card payments with the QB Go Payment app. Recently, the app keeps changing the screen orientation automatically from portrait to landscape. I have the screen orientation on the tablet locked. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to lock the screen in portrait orientation? Thank you,
Hi there, adminashley. I've got troubleshooting steps to prevent your QuickBooks GoPayment app from changing its screen orientation.
First, restart your device, as software glitches can sometimes cause the screen orientation lock to malfunction. Once your device has restarted, re-enable the screen orientation lock and test the QuickBooks GoPayment app.
If the issue continues, check for updates for both your tablet and the app. Make sure that your Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite’s Android operating system is up to date, as well as the QuickBooks GoPayment app.
To update the app, here's how:
After updating, check if the screen orientation now behaves correctly.

Hi,
Thanks for the tips but none of these worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app as well. After signing in it defaults to landscape orientation. Not sure what else I can do. Thanks anyways!
Hi there, Ashley.
I appreciate the effort and for providing the detailed steps you’ve already taken to troubleshoot this. Given these attempts, let’s explore further options that can help resolve the screen orientation issue.
Even with the tablet’s orientation lock enabled, some apps can override system settings based on their built-in functionality. Ensure there aren’t app-specific settings influencing the screen orientation. You can open the GoPayment app settings menu within your device and check if customization options for screen orientation are present. Here's how:
Alternatively, you can also install the QuickBooks GoPayment app on another Android device and test the functionality to determine whether this is an issue specific to your device. If the app behaves correctly, it suggests the issue is tied to the device’s compatibility or settings.
While the GoPayment app is compatible with a wide range of devices, it’s possible that certain limitations related to screen resolution or system compatibility are causing this.
