It could be due to compatibility issues with the operating system version, rfreeman9727.

I'm here to assist you in resolving this issue and ensuring a positive outcome.

QuickBooks software is designed to work with specific MacOS versions. If your current MacOS version is not compatible with the installation requirements of the disk, it may not load properly. I recommend checking the system requirements for the QuickBooks MacOSX disk to ensure compatibility with your MacOS version.

Keep us posted if you have any other concerns or further questions about the operating system or related issues. I'll be sure to help.

The disk is a 2010 QuickBooks for Mac; I'm trying to load it and it is a MacBook Air (Mac OS Sur). Any idea on why it won't load? The icon appears with an X thru the middle.....

Any workarounds to get it to load?

Your new MacOS is BigSur, correct?

QB Desktop 2010 doesn't support recent MacOS. Click on my profile name and you will find our website address to send emails. You may consider our workaround to open your file on BigSur.

Hello there. It seems the issue might be related to the compatibility of the 2010 QuickBooks for Mac with the newer macOS versions as macOS Sur. The "X" through the middle of the icon typically indicates that the application is not compatible with the current operating system. I'll share information that could help you.

Fiat Lux is correct. QuickBooks Desktop 2010 doesn't support recent MacOS. To ensure you have a version of QuickBooks that is fully supported on your MacBook Air and can take advantage of the latest features and security updates. You might want to consider upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks that is compatible with macOS Sur.
