Quickbooks Online Capital - unsolicited sales call?

Did anyone else receive an unsolicited phone call from Quickbooks Capital? I thought for sure that it was a scam, but the phone number the representative left in their voicemail was the legitimate Quickbooks number [Phone number removed]. I also received an emailed post call survey from Quickbooks Customer Success (I didn't answer the phone call).

If Quickbooks is doing unsolicited calls to advertise, that's really terrible. I hope that it was just a one off error in their system. The voicemail did not suggest that it was a callback.

Quickbooks Online Capital - unsolicited sales call?

Hi there, Ashley.

At QuickBooks, we prioritize your privacy and security. We will never make unsolicited calls to our customers. If you receive a call that appears to be from QuickBooks but you did not request it, we recommend exercising caution as it may be a spoofed call, which is a common tactic used by scammers.

To ensure you are speaking with an authorized QuickBooks representative, we encourage you to request a callback through our official support channels. This process ensures that any interaction you initiate is secure and legitimate. Also, please note that QuickBooks does not use a fixed, singular landline number for outbound calls, which helps protect against spoofing.

Quickbooks Online Capital - unsolicited sales call?

Like I said in my original message- not only did the person leave a voicemail with the correct callback number to Quickbooks Capital, as verified on the Intuit website, but I also received a "How did we do?" survey request email from Quickbooks Customer Success regarding the call. It was NOT a spoofed call.

It's fine if this is a one off error, but I was curious if anyone else had received something similar. Maybe it was just us.

Thank you for your clarification, Ashley. I recommend verifying the legitimacy of the call by reaching out to our Live Support team for assistance.

Here’s how you can connect with them through your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account:

  1. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  2. Select the Assistant tab to get help from the QB assistant, or select the Search tab to enter your question and find Help articles.
  3. If you choose the Search tab, enter keywords or the topic that best describes your issue and click the Contact Us button.
  4. Choose a way to connect (Have us call you or Chat with us) in the How would you like to connect with us? page.

On top of that, you can also contact the phone number indicated on this page to report any fraudulent encounters by unauthorized parties claiming to represent Intuit: Be aware of fraudsters and scammers impersonating Intuit.

Feel free to reply to this thread if you have any further questions.

Quickbooks Online Capital - unsolicited sales call?

Hi Mark.  You are not correct.  I have received unsolicited calls all week.  Last month, you called and called and then shut down my ability to pay our contractors because you claimed that "there was fraud on my account".  Of course this sounded like a scam because your representative told us we needed to send over 6 months of our bank statements "to prove there was no fraud"...hmmmm...that's kinda sounds like a scam right...?  Nope, after literally hours on the phone with various people, we find out together (your reps didn't know either) that you all didn't like one of the banks one of my contractors was using so you shut our ability to pay anyone.  Now this week, I am getting once again, unsolicited calls, and when I call back, i have to fight thru your VRU who won't connect me until I tell it "why" and if you don't, it hangs up on you.  So I called back and made up something, got a representative who took 15 minutes to tell me "I don't see anything on your account" but had no clue why you all were calling.  And then, lo and behold, she tells me that it's because we haven't turned off our marketing preferences...hmmm...sounds like unsolicited calls to me. The other interesting part is that you haven't been harassing me for the last four years and when asked why now, to your representative AND a supervisor, they both said it's because "you had a new release"... Oh that make perfect sense...I, as a client who pays you, has to go in and change my preferences so that you don't unsolicited calls..I mean, like you said, "At QuickBooks, we prioritize your privacy and security. We will never make unsolicited calls to our customers. If you receive a call that appears to be from QuickBooks but you did not request it, we recommend exercising caution as it may be a spoofed call, which is a common tactic used by scammers."...Right....
