We are an Accountant's office that provides wholesale access to Intuit Online Payroll to our clients. Our clients have began to be transitioned to the new QuickBooks Online Payroll, which we were assured everything would be the same or better. However, it has been discovered that payroll checks and tax payments that are processed through the new QBOP no longer has an option to export the data to a format readable for Sage 50. How are clients supposed to export their paychecks and tax payments to Sage 50 now?
PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT asking how to convert Sage 50 accounting data file to a QuickBooks accounting data file in any way. We need to know how clients who currently use Sage 50 accounting software (no intention of changing that) can import just their payroll transaction and tax payments processed through QBOP into their existing Sage 50 software.
Welcome to Community, @HCoKP.
I'll share the steps on how you can export paychecks and payroll tax payments.
First, set up your Export Preferences. Here's how:
After that, export your payroll transactions by going to:
For tax payments, here's how:
Refer to this article for details: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.
If you need further assistance with the export process, please contact our Payroll Support. They can check your payroll data in a secure environment.
Additionally, here's a link that'll help you manage payroll-related tasks. It has payroll topics that'll guide you along: QuickBooks Online Payroll.
Please don't hesitate to reply if you have other payroll questions. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a great day ahead.
@ShiellaGraceA Did you actually read my message at all? I very clearly stated in my original question what we need to know how to export to Sage 50, yet you provided a generic response to a question I did not even ask.
AGAIN -- I don't need to know how to export to an iif file or QBO, I need to know how to export paycheck and tax payments from QBOP to SAGE 50.
Thanks for getting back with the Community, HCoKP.
In addition to the steps listed by ShiellaGraceA, you can also review our QuickBooks App Store to see if you're able to find any applications that can help you achieve exporting the data you need from your books.
If you're unable to find any apps to accomplish your export, and the steps from ShiellaGraceA don't work to export the data you need for the new platform, you'll want to check Sage's website or get in touch with Sage support directly. They'll be able to look into what you're trying to do and confirm which options are available.
You can also find many detailed resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a lovely day!
This is not a Sage 50 issue, this is a QBOP functionality issue. We were assured that when we were forced to transition from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online Payroll that ALL FEATURES would remain the same or better. Yet I have very clearly pointed out one feature (among many) that did not transfer over. What is the solution for this? Contacting Sage is not a solution, as this is a QuickBooks Product that no longer exports to a specified file type/format.
