QuickBooks Online

I am struggling to adjust to the online version from Desktop.  I actually really hate it.  I can't find a way to adjust the view of my interface like it used to be. I can find a few places to bookmark, but I prefer to have my main checking account open when I log in.  I also prefer my menu icons across the top of the screen.  Is this even possible?  I am also struggling with reporting.  I could make my reports do anything I wanted in desk top, but I can't find an option to use classes in my actual to budget reports.  This is imperative for my church that also provides a childcare ministry.  We have to separate the two for budgeting reports.  The main issue is that I can't split the payroll amounts due to classes not being an option in the filters.  Is there any help out there for me? I have not had any luck finding videos or articles to assist.  Support calls have been such a nightmare, I just don't have the energy to go through that again.  Help! I miss my DESKTOP!!!

QuickBooks Online

Hello there, @ImaBassetcase.

I understand the challenge of transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) o QuickBooks Online (QBO) and the preference for QBDT's interface. I'd like to offer insights to help you better understand QBO.

QBO and QBDT have different navigation systems due to QBO being cloud-based, while QBDT requires a company file on your computer. Additionally, QBDT offers more features than the online version.

Currently, displaying the main checking account upon logging in isn't available and there's no option to move the menu icon.

With regards to the reports, you'll need to run separate reports because each report has different data.

Additionally, I'll include this article to learn more about what reports are available based on your QBO subscription: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.

If you have any further concerns about QBO, please don't hesitate to share them with the community. Have a pleasant day ahead!

Thanks for the disappointing reply. I understand that I will run separate reports, as I currently do.  I apply a class to every transaction including  each paycheck .  I need to be able to split off the church payroll from the childcare report and the church report. In the P&L report I see the option for filtering by class, but it is not available in the actual to budget report.  I do see the option to assign a class to each employee - the unbelievable flaw in your online system is that in order to do this you have to apply classes to every employee in the system EVEN INACTIVE EMPLOYEES.  I have people in there from 1995!! There is no way to delete them all in one batch - they must be done individually.  IF I had time to delete these employees, I'm not sure I will even get the report to separate the payroll. This is an awful system.

The ironic part is QBO did not bring over my tax filings I  just made at year end and before, but it brought over hundreds of employees from almost 30 years ago. Come on! Y'all can do better than that!
