I am currently paying for the Quickbooks Self-Employed Live Tax Bundle which clearly states grants me access to TurboTax Live: Self-Employed. This is supposed to grand me access to CPA's year-round. However, the feature is currently broken. Quickbooks attempts to redirect me to TurboTax Live, but I am only greeted by the TurboTax Home dashboard with no TurboTax Live option. I believe this is due to a bug in the TurboTax software not being able to handle my upgrade from my previous year's TurboTax Deluxe to TurboTax Self-Employed Live through the Quickbooks bundle.
After multiple days of back-and-forth with support (convincing them that yes I did clear my cookies and do a hard refresh with an incognito window, yes I am using an approved browser, yes I did pay for the right bundle) I received a no-reply email stating that the free CPA appointment is only available when filing taxes - and that if I was not happy with this I was welcome to downgrade.
I am beyond livid at how support is responding to me. I want to be put in contact with a competent person who can help me receive the service that I am paying for.
We don't want you to feel that way, charlysotelo.
I know that the QuickBooks Self-Employed Live Tax Bundle plan offers more features that include unlimited access to tax experts.
I also understand that you reached out already to our Customer Support Team regarding this issue. Though I'd still suggest contacting them back so they can verify the bundle inclusions. You can chat with them, call them, or request a callback.
I'll be right here if you need anything else. Stay safe!
I agree that Quickbooks Self-Employed Live Tax Bundle borders on false advertising. It says right in the description "Talk to real CPAs when you need, Get unlimited help and advice all year, Have a CPA do a final review of your return". The one and only time that I have talked to someone who was possibly human, they told me "I think we are going to have to refer you to a CPA" after I told them what I was trying to get advice on. I said, "I thought you were a CPA" and they said they were basically tech support. So I shared business in formation with someone who was pretty much a random tech support person. And then this person was unable to figure out how to connect me to a CPA because the button they told me that I should click to get to a CPA didn't even exist on my screen. At this point, I'd be better off just finding my own CPA to do all of this stuff for me, because QuickBooks has been no help at all.
