Does anyone know the password to unlock a protected worksheet in Quickbooks Statement Writer. I need to change a formula, and keep getting stopped because the worksheet is protected.
Hi there, PJMC.
Protected sheets and cells may prompt to enter a password if you try to edit them.
If you want to work on the report without the protection on the worksheet, I suggest to export the sheet to Excel, where it will not be protected.
1. From QuickBooks Statement Writer, choose Report.
2. Select Save as and click Excel.
3. Enter a file name and save the file in your desired location.
4. Exit the QuickBooks Statement Writer and browse to and open the file you saved.
Once done, your report will open in Microsoft Excel and will be fully editable.

If I save the file as an Excel worksheet, and fix my formatting issues, will I be able to pull it up from Quickbooks Statement Writer again? This is a report I will be running on a monthly basis.
Hello there, PJMC,
You'll want to work on the changes in the Statement Writer window. You're unable to pull up the changes if you do it on the Excel worksheet.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks support to help you unprotect the worksheet. Here's how:
Let me know if there's anything else I can be of help.
I appreciate the suggestion, but Quickbooks support was of NO help. I tried them first.
I appreciate the suggestion. I tried Quickbooks support first. They were of NO assistance. Tried again today, NO assistance.
Thanks for getting back, PJMC.
The password is designed to protect the formula in the document. I understand that you've contacted them our Customer Support Team. Though, I'll still suggest the same thing. They are the best to help you with resetting the password on protected sheets.
Let's follow the same steps shared by MaryLurleenM above.
