Re: Cannot find the BILLS option in Import Data on QBO

I am using QBO Plus in the US. I do not get the option to import bills. I am using Edge on a new laptop.

Re: Cannot find the BILLS option in Import Data on QBO

The Import Bills option in QuickBooks Online (QBO) United States (US) version is unavailable, @BobZ2. However, I have a workaround that enables you to upload your bills into QuickBooks. Let me explain the details.

As an alternative, you can upload a photo of your bills to the program, allowing QuickBooks to extract the information and create transactions for your review.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Expenses menu.
  2. Select Bills.
  3. From the Add bill dropdown, select Upload from computer.
  4. Drag and drop files into the upload area, or select the Upload button to choose files from your computer.ss.png

After uploading your bills to QBO, you can review and manage them. Here's an article for more information: Enter and manage bills and bill payments.

Additionally, consider exploring a third-party app that integrates with QuickBooks and provides this feature. You can go to the Apps menu and select Find Apps or visit our QuickBooks Online App Store to find the app.

Furthermore, I've attached this article in case you need to run a report to track your expense records in QuickBooks and upload receipts:

Feel free to reach out if you need clarification on handling your bills and expenses in QuickBooks. I'm always here to help.

@BobZ2

You can use a 3rd party tool to import bills in XLS format. If your files in JPG or PDF file format, you can use Melio as another option to import bils and schedule the payments with ACH for free.

It's not the best solution but, depending on your needs, you can import journal entries in QBO Plus if the journal entry credits A/P and has the vendor's name.  They don't show as bills on reports but they do show under the vendor account as journal entries and you can pay them using Pay bills.  You can import bills in QB Online Advanced which, to me, sounds like they're holding back a feature to get you to subscribe to the higher-priced version.
