Customize estimate template to include commonly used line items

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to create an estimate template in QBO that I can have line items already pre-loaded that I commonly use so that I don't have to type them in every estimate, while also having the ability to remove them if needed when building a specific estimate. I cannot seem to find anywhere how to do this. I am a contractor and quite often have a lot of the same line items / services for my clients and want to be able to save time by not typing them in every time. Anyone know how to do this or if it is possible?

Yes, it's possible, @deweyinternation. I'll ensure you can achieve your goal and help you save time doing your tasks in QuickBooks Online.

You can utilize the recurring transactions feature to automate repetitive information for your estimates. We can guide you on how to set up and make the most of recurring templates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings and choose Recurring Transactions.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select Estimate, and then select OK.
  4. Enter a Template name and the other details needed, including the line items.
  5. Complete the fields and select Save template.

From there, click the drop-down icon beside your created template and click Use.

You can also duplicate the existing one and edit it when needed. For your reference, check out these handy articles:
