Export Quickbooks data in database format for BI analysis

I'm looking for help to know if I can extract my company's data in Quickbooks online in a database format to be able to do external analysis by cross-referencing information and presentations of indicators by Busisnes inteligence. I've searched through the entire system and reports but I couldn't extract the data in this format, only in ready-made reports that don't meet my needs.

Export Quickbooks data in database format for BI analysis

Thanks for sharing this in the Community forum, @sergiodf7979. Allow me to share some information about the exporting formats available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The available formats that you can use to export your company's data from QBO are the following formats only:

  • Excel
  • PDF

If you want to download your reports and lists, you can utilize the Export Data feature within the program. You can follow the outlined steps below for guidance:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Export data under the Tools column.
  2. In the Reports tab, set the date range.
  3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the
  4. Click Export to Excel.

You may refer to this article for the full information about this: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

If you need to export reports that are not available through the Export data feature, you can look directly to the Reports menu, then click the Export export.PNGicon dropdown, and select Export to Excel or Export to PDF.

In case these formats don't meet your needs, you can search for other third-party applications that can download data in your desired format. QuickBooks provides a search feature for these integrated apps. Here's how you can find and connect to them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Apps menu.
  3. Search for the app you wish to connect to in the Magnifying glass icon or select the Browse category ▼ to search for an app by category.
  4. Select the app you want to download, then click the Get App Now.
  5. Authorize the app to connect to your QuickBooks Online.
  6. Follow the remaining steps to connect and set up the app settings of your choice.

Furthermore, if you want to add other specific info and personalize your reports before exporting them, you can customize them to fit your reporting preference.

You're always welcome to comment back here in the forum if you have other questions or concerns about exporting data and other program-related tasks. The Community team is here to lend you a hand.

@sergiodf7979

You should explore a BI app. It supports QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
