External accountant and accounting center popups

Hello -

I am using QuickBooks Accountant Desktop 2019 and hosted through a cloud service called SageNext.

I get two separate popups that I cannot disable (even via checking the box):

1) Setup an External Accountant User (see below)

2) Accountant Center (see below)

SageNext tech support said this is a QuickBooks issue and they cannot help.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it resolved?

Thank you in advance for any advice you may offer.

External accountant and accounting center popups

Hello there, @hsmolin!

You can remove the pop-up messages by utilizing the Turn off pop-up messages for products and services function from the Preferences menu.

  1. Go to Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click General.
  4. Select My Preferences.
  5. Put a checkmark to the Turn off pop-up messages for products and services.
  6. Click OK.

In addition, you can also put a checkmark on the Show Accountant Center when opening a company file function to remove it.

Lastly, here's a few articles you can read for ideas about how you can manage your account and related tasks: Help Articles for QuickBooks Accountant Desktop.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comment section down below. I'll be always around ready to help.

External accountant and accounting center popups

Hi JonpriL -

I appreciate your reply but unfortunately what you suggested was the first thing had tried a while ago with no success. Since my initial message I have upgraded to Accountant Desktop 2020 but the popups still come up :-( .

I have searched exhaustively for a solution but have not found one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for coming back to the Community, @hsmolin.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to remove the pop-up windows. Let’s perform another troubleshooting to help you get back to business.

Repairing your software can help fix common errors and replace all damaged installation files of QuickBooks Desktop. Before proceeding, save a copy of the company file.

This is to ensure you have a copy of the transactions. Let me share the Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file for detailed instructions.

Once you’re ready, follow these steps to repair the desktop program. Here’s how:

  1. Restart your computer. This makes sure there are no programs that may affect the repair.
  2. On your keyboard, press the Start button to select Control Panel. For Windows 8 or 8.1, search "Control Panel" in the Windows Start menu.
  3. When the Control Panel window appears, choose Uninstall a Program from the Programs and Features category.
  4. From the list, pick QuickBooks and select Uninstall/Change.
  5. Hit Continue or Next and mark the radio-button for Repair.

  7. Once done, click the Finish button and restart your computer to complete the repair.
  8. Download the latest release for your QuickBooks to ensure you have the most recent fixes and security updates.
