Fixed Asset Manager

I had another user update Asset specs in FAM like G/L Accounts and Convention, but when I log into QB I can't see any of these updates.  Shouldn't I be able to see them?  Is there some way to sync the updates from User1 so I can view them under my user ID?

Hello NMichRocks,

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community! I suggested running an Audit Report to view any events or transactions made on the user profile once logged in as admin. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings and select Audit log.
  2. Click Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate User, Date, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Hit Apply.

Please let me know if you were able to see those updates! Looking forward to your response.

In your instructions, "go to Settings"  is this for the QB Enterprise Desktop version?  Where do I find Settings in the desktop version?

I appreciate the time you've taken to follow the suggested steps by my colleague, @NMichRocks. I'll ensure you can run an Audit Trail Report in QuickBooks Desktop to verify if there have been changes made by another user to your asset financial information.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports in the main menu.
  2. Choose Account and Taxes and select Audit Trail.
  3. Then, filter the dates in the report.

From there, you can verify the changes made by the other user. It could be the cause of why you can't view the update in your asset specs.

I've included a screenshot for your reference:

I don't think you understand the problem.  User1 enters info into FAM and pulls Deprec by G/L report and data is correct.  User2 logs into QB and pulls Deprec by G/L report and data from the FA Schedule is very different.  Shouldn't the data be the same regardless of which user is looking at it?

Thanks for your prompt response, NMichRocks. Let me help you track the changes made to your fixed asset financial info in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To see a summary of the activity of the amortized assets, grouped by one user-defined classification and sorted by asset number within each group, refer to these steps:

  1. In your QBDT account, go to the Accountant menu and select Managed Fixed Assets.
  2. From the QuickBooks Fixed Asset Manager center, click on the Reports tab and select Display Reports.
  3. You can either choose the Amortization Schedule by General Ledger (G/L) Account Number or Amortization Schedule by User Defined or any other specific reports.
  4. Modify other details and click OK to enable data preview.

I'm sharing this guide for more detailed information about the predefined reports: Manage fixed assets using Fixed Asset Manager (FAM).

Moreover, you can also visit this reference to learn how to fix unexpected issues that result in the Fixed Asset Manager or FAM.

I'll always be around on this thread if there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing updates in Fixed Assets Manager. Keep safe, and have a great day ahead.

When I am logged into QB on my computer I see one set of info in Fixed Asset Manager.  When I log into QB on another computer I see another set of info in Fixed Asset Manager.  Why is that?  They should be the same.  I am using the same user login.

Good evening, @NMichRocks

Thanks for chiming back in on this thread with some additional information and a helpful screenshot.

To dig further into this issue, can you check both of files on each computer to see if ALL of your other data is the same within each of them?

This will help us give you a better solution for your business and see what might be causing this to occur. I'll be waiting for your response!
