Hello there, Rob. I understand how concerning it can be to see over $500 in old pending charges showing up.
First, let's reach out to your bank or credit card provider to verify whether these pending charges are still valid or linked to any actual transactions. If the merchant never finalized them, your bank may be able to release these holds manually.
For more information about pending charges, you can refer to this article: Double or Pending Charges on Your Bank or Credit Card Account.
If the pending charges appear in QuickBooks but aren’t associated with any finalized transactions, I recommend excluding them from your bank transactions. This will remove the charges from your QuickBooks data without affecting your actual bank records.
Here's how:
- Navigate to the Accounting menu, select Bank transactions.
- Scroll down and locate the pending charge under the Pending section.
- Check the box that has a pending charge, then select Exclude on the prompt.
