I just made a mistake by switching from QBSE to QB solopreneur... I'm just shoked. Is there a way to transfer back to QBSE? All my transactions/categorizations are lost. Another problem - how can I connect my Etsy account to QB solopreneur? With QBSE it happened kind of automatically, I can't even remember how.
Then the interface is different. Is there a way to see Business income for a particular account how it is in QBSE?
Hello Nik14,
Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community! I will do my best to assist you here. To answer your first question, you could resubscribe to access your QuickBooks Self Employed account again to use.
To clarify, are you referring to your QuickBooks Self-Employed data? Even if you cancel your subscription, you can still access QuickBooks Self-Employed through the end of your billing period. Once you resubscribe, we'll keep your data for one year.
To answer your third question, the option to connect to Etsy is not available in the Solopreneur but it may be implemented in the future.
For your fourth question, your closest option is to open the Transactions menu, click the Filter icon, and then select a specific account:
Please let me know if you have additional questions! I more than happy to assist further. See you soon.
Thank you for your reply. It gives me some hope to resubscribe QBSE. However as I’m trying to log in QBSE it automatically redirects me straight to this new app that I changed my plan to- QB solopreneur. Can I get assistance to revive my subscription QBSE?
I appreciate you for dropping by again on this thread, Nik. I can see how challenging it is for you that your plan was changed by mistake. Allow me to lay out some details about the QBSE subscription.
Since you've already switched to the QB Solopreneur version, you can no longer revert your account to QBSE. QBSE is no longer available for subscription. Only its existing subscribers can manage their company on this program.
Given your situation, I recommend utilizing QB Solopreneur to handle your data and business transactions. Also, it would be great to hear your recommendation regarding linking e-commerce software such as Etsy to the system. Your comments would help our developers improve the product.
You can submit your feedback directly to our development team by following these steps:

Hi Sacha!
I noticed you've said that Etsy can't be integrated to Solopreneur, however it clearly states the integration to Etsy is available on Solopreneur here on the Quickbooks blog. Further, when I clicked a direct link from Etsy to sign up with Quickbooks for Etsy, Solopreneur was an option. Could you help me clear up the confusion? Thank you!
Adding screenshot from direct link to Quickbooks from Etsy where it clearly suggests a second time that Etsy and Solopreneur are compatible. I purchased Solopreneur for this reason, so it's quite frustrating that both Etsy and Quickbooks sites lead me to believe this tool would integrate with my Etsy account if that isn't the case.
I appreciate your thoroughness in examining the integration between QuickBooks Solopreneur and Etsy, taysdotstudio. Your insights are instrumental in helping us clarify the situation. I recognize how frustrating this can be, especially when these connections are vital for your business. I'll provide clarification on this matter.
Currently, you can connect your Etsy account via bank connectivity. This feature allows you to sync relevant transactions directly to the system. Please refer to the attached screenshot for visual guidance.
For now, I recommend submitting feedback to our product engineers, as suggested by my colleague Ivan. Our dedicated development team will evaluate your idea and might reach out to Etsy e-commerce for possible third-party app integrations.
Additionally, I suggest contacting Etsy support to inquire about their direct links, especially with your second screenshot.
Moreover, you might want to consider upgrading to one of the QuickBooks Online options: Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced. The Etsy connector is available with these subscriptions.
For future reference, I'm adding these resources as a guide in managing your transactions and Solopreneur account effectively:
I can imagine how you're feeling about this. Please keep me updated after you reach out to Etsy support. If you have further questions about your QuickBooks Solopreneur account, just hit the Reply button below. I'm always here to help, taysdotstudio.
Hi!
When I try and do this, I get an error "Sorry, we aren't set up to connect this bank or financial institution yet."
And apologies for bring a little confusing—the link from Etsy "How to sign up" directs to a Quickbooks + Etsy sale page hosted by Quickbooks where it states a second time directly from Quickbooks that Solopreneur is compatible with Etsy. The first time it is stated by Quickbooks is this Quickbooks blog post. It is advertised in two separate places that Solopreneur is compatible with Etsy, which is the only reason I chose Quickbooks. I don't need the larger suite of tools from Quickbooks online and prefer the tools given by Solopreneur, which is why I chose Solopreneur—I'm not interested in the larger plans. Most Etsy shops are sole proprietors as am I. If Solopreneur isn't compatible with Etsy and that is the whole reason I signed up, how can I receive a refund for the false advertising? Thank you.
Yes, this is frustrating that Etsy still advertises integration with QB. The advice about connection to the bank doesn't help much as it shows only deposits from Etsy, and doesn't catch any ETSY fees, shipping expenses, original amount of the sale etc as it was in QB SE.
I appreciate your efforts in linking your Etsy bank to QuickBooks Solopreneur, taysdotstudio, and Nik14. We truly value your feedback, and I’m here to help you with the challenges you’re facing regarding the bank connection.
As of the moment, Etsy Commerce integration is not yet available in the system. To help improve your experience, I recommend sending support to your financial institution.
Here's how:
In the meantime, you can consider manually uploading your transactions. This way, you'll be able to categorize them.
For refund concerns, I recommend contacting our dedicated customer care team. They have the expertise and tools to review your account.
Here's how to reach them:

i just made this same mistake and Quickbooks clearly states it has an Etsy integration for
i get this same error that Quickbooks isn't set up to integrate with Etsy. Wow Quickbooks oversold us and flat out lied. Im canceling, i have no use for Solopreneur if it doesn't connect to Etsy.
Yeah
I just made the same mistake. I also found errors with trying to import .CSVs for product data. This is an unfinished product with false advertising.
Importing CSV can significantly streamline your data entry process in QuickBooks, nkoskey. We're committed to ensuring that you can successfully import your files without any issues.
However, I'd like to ask a couple of questions to make sure we give you the right troubleshooting steps. Specifically, can you describe the error that you've found? Are there any unexpected behaviors you've observed during the import process?
While we await your response, I'd like to share these resources that can be valuable when working with data imports in QuickBooks:
We'll get back to you to offer tailored troubleshooting steps once we have a clearer picture of the situation. We're looking forward to helping you successfully import your data into QuickBooks Solopreneur.
Hello, thank you for the response. I have already been in contact with Tech Support and they have confirmed that this is an unfinished product and that it still has a lot of work to go before it is fully functional.
I am not going to re-open the discussion on what I did to troubleshoot this but your support team determined that when uploading products and services, everything must be imported as a service, then you must manually go and covert each one to a product. This is not sustainable for me as I have a lot of products and the list changes with frequency. I'm already using excel spreadsheets to keep track of the business. I will keep it at this for now.
So to re-cap:
-I was sold this product with the promise that it would connect to Etsy. It does not connect to Etsy, so that is a deal breaker.
-When testing the product I determined that .CSV imports have problems and do not work correctly, necessitating in manual entry for functionality.
