How to use the Notes field on the Vendor Information screen?

How to use the Notes field on the Vendor Information screen?

QB Pro 2019 Desktop

After setting up a new vendor, I pull up it's Vendor Information window.

In the top right corner of a vendor's window (where it shows their name, phone number, address, email, etc.),

there's a push-pin icon with the word NOTE.

I click in the text box under it, and it won't accept any typing.

In that text box, there are also both  up and down arrows. Nothing happens when I click on those either.

Notes:

1.There is no Notes option when I setup a brand new vendor, only on the screen once I've already set it up.

2. There is no "Notes Tab", as mentioned in other posts.

Does anyone know how to use that field?

Thanks!

How to use the Notes field on the Vendor Information screen?

We appreciate you for providing us full details of your issue, LisaAmante.

You 're right, the option to add notes in the Pin (Note) icon is unavailable. When setting up a new vendor, the Notes field is also unavailable. The Notes tab will only appear once you save the vendor information.

To add notes in the Vendor Information page, you can follow the detailed steps below:

  1. Click the Notes tab beside the To Do's tab.
  2. Hit the Manage Notes drop-down button and choose Add New.
  3. Enter the description in the Notepad section.
  4. Click OK.

Then, do the same steps to add a new one.

Once you click the note you've created, it will reflect in the Pin (Note) icon section.

Keep me in the loop if you need anything else in QuickBooks Desktop. I'd be glad to help.

Wow! Thanks for the excellent and fast reply.

I can't believe I have never noticed all those tabs! That's so insanely myopic of me! You've pointed out a whole new world.

Happy holidays :-)
