Hello there, @Dianne62.

I want to ensure that you can work on your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Company seamlessly.

Before so, I’d like to share some possible causes of why QBDT closes automatically. Please see below:

  • Your program files or QBDT installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system
  • Issues on the computer itself or how QuickBooks interacts with your system

It’s also best to ensure that your Operating System (OS) is compatible with your windows when running the application. Here’s an article you can check for the system requirements. It gives you insights into the other requirements for seamless use of the software.

Nonetheless, I’d suggest keeping your company files updated up to the latest release. This way, you have all the updated components. Once done, utilize the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks tools to fix your QBDT. Before that, you’ll want to download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.

Here’s how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks account.
  2. Download the most recent version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub, then save the file somewhere you can easily spot it.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Pay heed to the onscreen prompts to install, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation completes, click the icon on the Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Then, performs the steps below to repair your QuickBooks.

  1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Click Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Try to open your files.
