Join nowWe use enterprise desktop version. We do quantity discount on all items (thousands) and all customers. We also have price rules for many customers. We don’t want quantity discount combined with price rules. How we do it? Or do u have better ideas on how to set this up so we don’t run into double discounts. Thanks.
Thank you for posting here on the Community page, Kevin Z.
I'll share some information about Quantity discounts and price rules that work in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
Advance pricing includes both quantity discount and price rule, and they're both parts of the same functionality. The discount will be applied depending on the number of items that you've selected for the price rule.
If the rule is correctly created, discounts cannot be doubled. To avoid it, make sure there isn't a discount that is the same as the other rule.

Thank you for your response. But it doesn’t quite address my questions. Let me rephrase my question maybe it will make more sense to you:
1. All my items got quantity discount. And quantity needed to get discount is different base on particular item. For example, item A get 10% when it’s over 10 pcs. While item B get 10% when it’s over 50 pcs.
2. Quantity discount is set up under “ITEM” not price rules because it would require me to set up 10k rules when I have 10k items.
3.many customers will get certain discounts regardless of quantity they are buying and I don’t want it be combined with quantity discount.
so the question is: how do I exclude quantity discount rule from price rules. I tested and they are combined.
I can see how the benefit of being able to exclude quantity discounts from price rules would aid you in running your business with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Kevin Z. That's why I'm here to share a few details about this.
When you set up both quantity discounts on items and price rules, they'll be combined when you create transactions. For the time being, excluding the quantity discount from price rules isn't an option.
