Receiving message "we couldn't approve this task" when attempting to approve bills. Why would that occur?

This is on the task list and when going directly into the bill.  Receive error message in both instances.

I'll ensure you can get rid of the error and successfully approve the bills in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Let's perform the basic browser troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue. It also helps to improve and speed up your browser's performance. Cookies and caches may prevent you from approving bills. 

 

First, you'll want to restart your browser. Then, try updating your bank in an incognito or private browser. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

 

Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N

Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P

Safari: press Command + Shift +

 

If it works on the private browser, go back to the regular browser and clear your browser's cache. Then, see if you can successfully approve the task in QuickBooks. Otherwise, you can use another supported browser.

 

Additionally, make sure you have the appropriate permission to approve tasks. See this link for more details about different options for user roles and access permissions: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Hello - thank you for your response.  This did not fix my issue.  I still have these bills waiting to be approved on the task list.  Some have already been paid, some have not.  Any other ideas?  Thanks

  2. Hit the Contact Us button
