Hi All,

Can someone please tell me if I can run a report for a single customer and listing how many hours they have remaining to be billed?

Thanks,

Catherine

Yes, Catherine.

You can run the Billed/Unbilled Hours by Person report and customize it to get the data needed. I'll guide you through the steps:

  1. Click Reports > Report Center.
  2.  Search Billed/Unbilled Hours by Person report.
  3. Click the green arrow icon to Run the report.
  4. Click on Customize Report.
  5. Select the Report Date.
  6. Click the Filters tab.
  7. Select Customer: Job.
  8. You can select All customers/jobs or Multiple customers/jobs.
  9. Click OK.

Here are resources about the understanding report and customizing them:

Post again if you have other reporting questions or concerns. I'll be right here to help you out. Have a good one!

Thank you Glinette! Your steps were very easy to follow, however for some reason the report is coming up blank and I am not sure why.

Hello, Cath_R.

It's good to know that you're able to follow the instructions given above by my colleague GlinetteC. The report should show the billed and unbilled hours shown in the image below.

If you have chosen the correct reporting period, the following could be the cause of the report coming out blank:

  • Data damage.
  • Discrepancies on reports.
  • Some transactions are missing.

Let's run the verify and rebuild data to ensure you're company file is free from any potential data issues.

To verify data:

  1. Open the company file.
  2. Click the File tab at the top menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Choose Verify Data.

For rebuild data:

  1. Open the company file.
  2. Click the File tab at the top menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Choose Rebuild Data.

If the issue persists, download and install QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub. This can help you resolve data issues and program errors.

Additionally, you can customize reports when you pull them up to highlight the information that matters to you the most. Then you can memorize them to save the customization settings for future reference. Refer to this article for a complete guide: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.
