Restore a deleted transaction

Accidentally one of my staff members deleted a lengthy JE and I want to restore it rather than re-entering the whole thing. Is there any possibility of the same?

Restore a deleted transaction

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @Praveen_Uduweriya. I've got some information to share with you on how to restore deleted transactions in QuickBooks.

In QuickBooks Desktop, there are only two ways to restore deleted transactions. You can either use your backup files or generate an Audit Trail report to recover the details. Please know that you’ll need to reenter your JE information manually if you use the Audit Trail method.

Here’s how:

1. Click the Reports menu and then go to Accountants & Taxes.
2. In the side menu, click Audit Trail.
3. Filter the date the transaction was deleted on.
4. Click Refresh.
5. From the new list, select the deleted transaction and double-click it.
6. Copy the details.

Once recovered, you can match your JE transaction to your downloaded events. It helps make sure everything is correct during your reconciliation.

I’ll be here to help if you have any other concerns besides restoring deleted transactions. Just add them to your reply below. Keep safe always!
