restore an online backup

I'll make sure you can restore your company file from your server, Amy.

You'll have to install the QuickBooks Database Manager on your remote computer to access and restore your file from the server. This allows you to configure the QuickBooks Server for multi-user access.

Then, map server or host computer as a network drive in your remote computer. I'll show you how.

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows icon.
  2. Type This PC in the search bar. From the search results, choose This PC.
  3. Under the Computer tab, select Map a network drive.
  4. Select any unused drive letter then select Browse.
  5. Go to the network location where your QuickBooks company file is stored. Select OK then Finish.
  6. Reopen your QuickBooks company file from the new mapped drive.

You can also check this resource for more details about the process: Open a company file located on a remote computer.

@Amy mosis

Copy the backup file (QBB) from your server and save it locally on your machine. Then you can restore the backup file locally.
