Join nowFor some reason my file data has disappeared when I did. I am running QB19 for Mac. Trying to find and restore my file I created multiple backups of the same bad file. I went to iCloud and downloaded my backups from there. I can find the file I need or think I need in Finder but cannot restore it to QB so it can be opened. Any suggestions or help. I am a novice user of QB so I may not be doing what I think I am doing. Please help .
I can help you find your company file, @Mikee.
The default location is actually in the Documents folder. You can also find it by going to your File menu and then Open Recent to open the company file you last used in QuickBooks.
You can also find your company file's location by clicking on Help and choosing Product Information. You will see it in the bottom part.
Check this article for more information: Company file is missing or cannot be found.
Also, here's more information on how to restore your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know if you need further help in finding other files. I'm always here to assist.
Hi MaryJoyD,
I am sorry about the late reply back. Due to a family emergency I had to drop everything to go and help.
I have tried what you said but being a novice and a first time user of QB2019 I am not getting anywhere. I have found the file I need to restore on iCloud and downloaded it but cannot get it where it suppose to go to be able to open it.
A lot of the directions are not that clear to me. Can you help?
Mikee
