I was unable to add an accountant to access my quick book account as I had signed up to quick books via the mobile app. Following the general advice on quickbooks I cancelled my subscription with the intention of resubscribing to Quickbooks self-Employed. I have attempted several times to re-subscribe to Quick-Books self employed using my log in details however every time I enter my bank details and click send a screen appears to say oops there was a problem. No explanation what the problem is or what steps I should take t resolve this. My accountant was unable to make sense or use the reports I had downloaded/exported prior to cancelling my subscription and I am unable to get access back into my account despite quickbooks stating you can access your data for up to a year. I really need access to these to submit my tax returns. Has anyone had a similar issue or is able to assist. It seems Quick Books online does not provide phone support but the chat function does not really offer the level of support needed. If I am able to resubscribe and get my accountant access then that is great.
I'll share details and help you reactivate your account as well, duborganic.
Both QuickBooks Online and QuickBook Self-Employed both have phone support. However, they're only open until 3 PM on Saturdays.
Also, the data will remain in your account for a year after it was cancelled. During this time, you should be able to log in and export your reports and lists. Although, it will only be available within 90 days if you're on a trial account. Here's an article that explains this a little further: What Happens to my QuickBooks Online Data After I Cancel?
Have you tried using an incognito or switching to a different browser? An issue within your browser might have caused the error when resubscribing to your account. Let me share some steps on how to resolve common browser issues in QBO and QBSE:
Start by using a different compatible browser (Chrome, Mozilla, Microsoft Edge) or use these keyboard shortcuts to start an incognito or private browsing session:
Then, go back to QBSE and try to reactivate your account. I will also share these articles about our contact details just in case you're still having the same error:
Let me know if you're able to reactivate your account. You can also post more questions if you need anything else.
