I was just online with an expert and trying to figure out how to do Sales Orders in the online version. After I was told they do not have that feature I was told I could do an Estimate and that it would pull that item from inventory without me Invoicing it. But after looking at other peoples answers I am not sure about that. Is there anyway to create something like a sales order that will pull from inventory? Or does Estimates really pull from the inventory count?
Welcome to the Community,taud.
Let me share some insights about the sales order and estimate in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Currently, QuickBooks online version doesn’t have sales orders. Its closest transaction in QBO is an estimate. Once you’ve created an estimate you can convert it to an invoice.
Using an inventory item on an Estimate doesn't affect your inventory count since these are non-posting transactions. Your inventory count is affected once the Estimate is converted into an Invoice.

Consider having an additional app with the Sales Order feature to integrate with your QBO.
Do you have suggested 3rd party you use with QBO for sales orders?
I'm here to help share how you're able to use sales orders, @sjosedale.
In QuickBooks Online, we've got third-party applications to choose from that work best for tracking sales orders. Even if we're unable to provide the exact name of the app you need, I can show you the list instead.
