Sales receipts - duplicate transaction dates

After installing one of the last updates to QB POS, the transaction date is printing 4 times in each receipt. They also added mandatory Intuit disclaimer at the bottom of the receipt. All this is making our receipts ridiculously long if you only purchase one item.

This only happens for credit & debit cards. Our merchant service is QB payments.

If I go into the print designer to modify the receipt, it will not allow me to remove any of the transaction lines.

I would rather not call customer support and end up in a long conversation with someone who doesn't understand what I am talking about or tell me there is nothing I can do. Can you help, please?

Sales receipts - duplicate transaction dates

I understand how these issues impacted your work, @JeanG

I can provide you with another way to help you get around this printing issue. This way, you can perform your tasks as usual.

Let's perform a clean reinstall for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale. This resolves problems during installation or while running the software. Then, test it again in a New Windows User (Windows 10 or Windows 8/7). Here's how:

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows + R to open the Run window.
  2. Enter “Control Panel”, then select OK.
  3. Select Programs and Features.
Note: If the Control Panel is in Category View, select Uninstall a Program.
  4. In the list of programs, select QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 18.0, then select Uninstall/Change.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the process.

Sales receipts - duplicate transaction dates

This is not a feasible solution. That means I have to go to every work station we have to uninstall and reinstall QB POS. No - that is not the way to solve the problem.

Sales receipts - duplicate transaction dates

Hello JeanG, I appreciate you for adding a response.

I understand this isn't an easy process since you would have to spend a lot of time and effort on every workstation. I have other steps that you can follow to resolve this on your end. If you haven't tried it, you can continue with the recommendation below.

Purge the printer memory:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Press and hold the feed button and turn the printer back on.
  3. When the printer begins its self-test, release the feed button.
  4. Once test completes, attempt to print from within Point of Sale again.

Remove and reinstall the printer:

  1. In the Devices and Printers window, right-click the receipt printer, then Remove device. Click Yes to confirm the action.
  2. Repeat this process for additional copies of the printer that may be installed.
  3. Reinstall the receipt printer.

If it persists, you can check this article for other solutions that fit to follow in your scenario: Resolve receipt printer issues.

Sales receipts - duplicate transaction dates

Yesterday I chatted with QB POS customer support and reported the problem. Today Intuit called to say they are aware of the problem and we aren't the only company with it. This seems to be a glitch with a recent update. Reinstalling POS or clearing the printer will not help. Hopefully they can produce a patch soon.
