SBSEG-PD MambaScrum

Windows Defender Firewall popped up that it needed permission to allow access for SBSEG-PD MambaScrum. I know Quickbooks has an app called Mamba, but I haven't downloaded or adding anything this morning that would make a new permission needed. All searches show no mention of MambaScrum as a valid component. Am I being paranoid by not clicking Allow Access every time the QB logo comes up?

You can give MambaScrum access on your computer, @OfficeAdmin4. I'm here to share some insights about this.

SBSEG-PD MambaScrum is a directory name for a production server. It will show on your computer when an application needs to be compiled before running and installing it completely.

Let's go ahead and allow this app on your Windows Defender since they're the ones who've detected this. I'm here to show you how.

  1. Go to the Start menu, then write Allow an app through Windows Firewall, and select the program for the results.
  2. Click the Change settings. If prompted, enter your administrator password to confirm these changes.
  3. To allow this, go to the checkbox next to the app, or choose Allow another app and type the path for the app.

Please read this article for reference: Risks of allowing apps through Windows Defender Firewall.

I'll be on the look out if you need further assistance regarding allowing MambaScrum on your computer. Just reply or post in this forum.

@OfficeAdmin4   You're definitely not just being paranoid.  There is GOOD reason to be extremely cautious, as QB is widely known for scams and fraud.

Take the words of anyone that works for QB with a grain of salt  Do your research elsewhere. Ask and get the opinion of any IT person that DOESN'T work for QB about it. I happen to have a friend that works in cyber security, so I run things by him. Doesn't hurt.
