Search Quantity

Hi Abdul.

You can open your item list to find out the current quantity of your items in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'm here to guide you through the process.

  1. Open your QBDT file.
  2. Go to the Lists menu, then tap on Item List.
  3. Review the numbers per item under the Total Quantity column.

From there, you can also add, edit, and delete items if needed.

If you need help adjusting your items' quantity in the future, use this link as your guide: Adjust your inventory quantity or value in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about your items. I'm more than happy to help you again. Have a good one!

Hi there, Abdul Elah Rahmani.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread and adding extra details about your concern. With this, let me provide details and steps to ensure you're able to get the Quantity of items used in bills, invoices, etc.

If you mean to use inventory quantity that is connected with various entries in the search bar, this is currently unavailable. This is because the field help to locate features and file being entered in the system.

If you're referring to getting a report that appears with number of items, I suggest running the Inventory Valuation Detail report. Then, customize it so you can also able to see every transaction linked to a certain item.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Reports menu at the top.
  2. Choose Inventory and select Inventory Valuation Detail.
  3. Click the Customize Report tab.
  4. Go to the Filters tab and choose Transaction Type in the search bar.
  5. Select All from the drop-down list.
  6. Click OK to save changes.

You can open this article to view further details on how you can customize the data of your report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Lastly, you may refer to this article on how to memorize reports in QuickBooks so the same settings of the customized report are available for future use: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

I'm just around if you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about the information mentioned above. Have a great day, Abdul Elah Rahmani.

Thank you so much Christin for your detailed answer.

As you said I'm looking for a way to search and filter an exact quantity of items in anny transaction. For example all invoices by the number of five TVs.

If it's not available in QB please tell me why?
