Site Usability - Hard to Login and post a question

Logging in and getting to the page to post are extremely difficult and time consuming.

 

I generally come to QuickBooks Q&A either by a Google search or a saved link and use the search box.

 

That's where all my troubles begin. 

 

It is not easy or intuitive to post a question.

 

Sure, I click the sign in and then need to choose a product (WHY, I choose a board and keyword before posting) but when I sign in I am NOT redirected back to the post I was looking at, but to my account page.  Even if I copy and paste the url for the topic or refresh I do not seem to be logged in in the forum. 

 

Once I actually can get back to the Q&A section I am unable to EASILY find a way to post a new question.  I have to navigate out of what I am looking at and go back to the home page.  There should be a Ask a question button at the top of every page.

 

This is just way to hard.

Hi @RangerZ,

 

I'm here to take care of your concerns about your Community account. 

 

As you stated above, after you log in to your QuickBooks Community account, you're routed to your account page. A feature that allows you to save a post you were looking at before you log out is currently unavailable. You also mentioned that you save Community post links, and when you paste them back to a browser you aren't logged in. This behavior is expected in this situation. Once you paste the link and open the post, you can log in, and still stay on that specific post.  

 

As for how you can easily post a question to the Community, I can provide you 2 options. You already mentioned the first, which is to go to the Home page then click the Ask the Community button. Another one you can do is log in to your QuickBooks company, then follow these steps.

 

  1. Click the Help menu.
  2. Select Contact us.
  3. Press the Post a question button under Ask the community.

I take little satisfaction in your reply.

 

I was not trying to save a post (you can't), but I do FULLY expect to be able to login on ANY page and end up pack at that page. indeed this should be the default action.  I was a web dev for a decade and this is basis SS. and transparent to the user.

 

I would never use the desktop app to post anything.  the interface locks the  page below making it impossible to reference anything while writing.  Unacceptable.

 

It's too hard to do, and s inefficient.
