I have our online QB account linked to Square so that transactions are automatically transferred into QB. I have noticed that some transactions show in QB with the wrong month for the transaction. I talked with QB and was told to ask Square. When I looked at the transactions in Square the date is correct.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for posting here in the Community, eprman. You've come to the right place for help with your QuickBooks and Square connection.
Is it possible the transactions in question are partial payments from your customer(s)? Square sends payment details to QuickBooks when the final payment has been made to close the order. Several partial payments may be the cause of the different dates you're seeing.
I've got an article for you that covers the ins and outs of connecting Square to QuickBooks. You can check it out here: Connect your Square account to QuickBooks Online
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you need help with the Square transactions or anything else. Take care!
No, they were not partial payments. All were paid recurring invoices. In a group of several transactions that made up a deposit, 1 or 2 had a June date rather then the correct July date.
Is there a way to re-sync the transactions to see if the correct date comes across the second time?
Thanks,
Bill
Thanks for getting back to me, eprman.
I have one more question for you. When accessing Square through QuickBooks, do you use the Square app integration, or is Square set up as a bank account in the banking section of QuickBooks?
I'll keep an eye out for your reply and we can continue working here.
An app integration.
Thanks,
Bill
Ok good deal. Thanks, eprman.
In the App Transactions tab, you should be given the option to review, add, exclude, and undo any Square transactions. In this instance, I recommend undoing the transactions with the incorrect dates. You can then make any corrections and then re-add them to QuickBooks. It's always a good idea to chat with your accountant before completing these types of actions within your account.
