I appreciate you informing us of your current situation, @jbonano. We can clear your browser's cache to bring back the experience you had before when dealing with purchase orders in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll provide further details and walk you through the process.

It's crucial to understand that browsers store temporary internet files to improve browsing speed, but this storage can also affect the program's performance and alter its functionalities. To ensure the best possible experience, consider accessing your account via an incognito or private browsing window. Please use these shortcut keys:

  • Safari 11 or newer: +Shift+N
  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once you're in, enter a purchase order to check if the item details section is available. If they do, proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

It's also best to try other compatible browsers when accessing your company file. Refer to this article to see the list of compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online: Other browsers.

Additionally, you can create personalized sales forms where you can match it with how your business works. Visit this handy article for more information: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

@info2135, do you still see the section named ">Item details", or is it gone too? If it's still there, click on it to expand the section.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, info. I'd like to give further details on how to make your item details appear in your purchase orders in QBO.

Before we begin, it's important to verify if you've activated your items table on the expense and purchase forms.

You can check by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon, and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Click on Expenses, and then choose the pencil icon in Bills and Expenses.
  3. Tick the box labelled Show Items table on expense and purchase forms.
  4. Once done, click Save.

Additionally, if you've confirmed that you already had the item table turned on, you can then proceed to perform the basic troubleshooting steps that my colleague suggested, as these will resolve any cache-related issues affecting your browser's performance.

However, if the problem still persists, I highly suggest contacting our QuickBooks Live Support team. They have the tools and access to further investigate the root cause of your issue ensuring real-time assistance through screen-sharing sessions.

Here's how you can get in touch with them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company using any supported browsers.
  2. Select (?) Help in the upper right corner of your screen.
  3. Type a question or topic you need to help with, then select Contact a human.

You can read this page to learn about their availability so you can choose a time that suits your schedule: Support Hours.

Moreover, you can check this page if you want to learn how to set up product and service items you buy and sell but don't track as part of your inventory: Set up and track your inventory in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, you can then read this page to learn how to track bills and record the payments: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.
