Track changes to an estimate/project and allow client to see whole history online

Hi,

I have a friend who is terrible with computers. he's a contractor and he seems to always be working with very fickle customers that are always changing what they want. He's getting bogged down in changes and losing track money-wise. Does quickbooks have a way to track changes to an estimate and allow both party to see a history of the changes online?

Track changes to an estimate/project and allow client to see whole history online

Thanks for turning to the Community for your concern, @blazinAl.

We can use the Audit Log to view account activity. Here's what QuickBooks records in the audit log system:

  • The date of any change to your books
  • The name of the user who made the change
  • The type of change or event
  • The name of any customer or vendor related to the change
  • Any original transaction date and amount

Please know that only the master admin can access the audit log. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Settings menu, then select Audit Log.
  2. Select Filter, then use the fields on the Filter panel to select the UserDate, or Events to narrow the results.
  3. Click Apply.

For additional reference, check out this article to get more insights about how it works: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always here to guide you more if you need help in tracking the changes made in your QuickBooks Online company. Take care!
