Hello,
I'm looking for a little help with my inventory. Right now I use QuickBooks Premier and have inventory tracking on.
I have items that are manufactured for me. I have a couple vendors that provide these items. They are produced with the same P/N# and are sold the same. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to track multiple costs for that single inventory item.
Example one vendor might be XX for an item and another vendor might be XXXXX for that same item. I'd like to be able to track my actual costs of the item when I do assemblies.
I may be overlooking something simple with this.
Thanks
No, there isn't a way to do this. The costs for a single item purchased at different rates, from the same or different vendors, will always be averaged.
Does it auto average it? When I setup the item I had to manually enter the costs or each specific item
The cost entered on the item is just a default, used when you purchase the item - like the sales price is a default when you sell the item.
The actual cost is calculated based on your purchases.
