Trying to add a saved location in QuickBooks online, and it tells me that in order to add one, it needs to utilize the "Google drop down address"...there is no drop down

QuickBooks online tells me in order to add a favorite/saved location for mileage tracking, I need to use the Google drop address...but there is no drop down address. I type my address into the box, and nothing pre populates, no drop down appears, nothing. How do I add a saved location??

Thank you for taking the time to share your concern here, Chris.

Let’s walk through some basic troubleshooting steps to help you successfully add your favorite locations to the Mileage tracking.

Before that, please note that you can't add a favorite location having the same address but with different streets.

Follow these steps to resolve mileage tracking problems:

  1. Verify your device's location settings.
  2. Disable your hotspot while driving (applicable to Android users).
  3. Ensure the app is correctly tracking miles.
  4. Add the QuickBooks mobile app to your permissions list.
  5. Update the QuickBooks mobile app.
  6. Update your device's software.
  7. Adjust your device settings as needed.
  8. Accurately track your trips.

Please refer to this article that details the process of each step: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Let us know in the comments below if you have additional questions about mileage tracking. We're always here to help.

Thanks for the feedback/advice Moiraskye, but I don't think any of your points apply to my situation/problem:

I am not using the app, I am on a laptop/desktop and not trying to do an interactive location while out driving...I'm trying to enter my home/office location as a favorite.

As it turns out...what I did was log off, exit the website/close the tab on my computer and open a new tab and re-log in again.  That worked.  Furthermore, the same situation happened AGAIN, but this time while I was entering mileage accumulated for a previous trip (again, on the laptop/desktop computer, not on the mobile app).  What I ended up doing was refreshing my webpage, and that seemed to fix the issue.  I must say, the QuickBooks online seems pretty crappy if it is having these types of "issues/bugs"...especially considering the price that is being charged.  Not professional at all IMO.
