Buy nowI inherited a volunteer bookkeeper role for a non-profit. We have QuickBooks Premier Plus for non-profit 2020 on a windows 7 computer. I am trying to move our installation to a windows 10 computer. We only have one active company that we use We pay for the annual subscription, but don't have a CD. It updates with downloads. The new computer has been fully updated to Windows 10.0.19042. I have tried 3 times, 3 different USB sticks to move from the old to the new. When I put the USB in the new computer and run the BAT, I get an error message: Quickbooks migrator failed unexpectedly. The instructions are telling me to uninstall, but I don't have any discs or instructions. I need step by instructions. I am technology challenged.
I've got you covered, @PCCbkpr.
You can directly download and install QuickBooks Premier Plus for non-profit 2020 to your new computer. I can guide you on how to do it.
First, let's make sure to create a backup copy of your company file. Then, locate your license number and product number. Just open the program and press F2 on the keyboard. I think I did exactly as you said. I created a back up of quickbooks from my old computer.
I found the license number and product information and recorded it.
On the new computer I went to the download and updates page: downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products.
It did ask me for the country, but didn't ask me for product or version.
There was no search button.
When I selected download, I got Quickbooks Premier Nonprofit 2013. I was working on 2020 on the old computer, but because it was windows 7, it wouldn't update to 2021. All I have is quickbooks desktop, but that isn't helping me.
How do I download a more recent version of quickbooks premier nonprofit then restore my back up.
thanks
When I launched the 2013 version I couldn't find the company. So I went to open/restore company from my backup. It won't restore because the version I backed up (2020) is more recent than what installed on my new laptop. I have searched all of the help files and I can't figure out how to update my 2013 version with the latest 2020 that I paid for.
I've come to help you, @PCCbkpr.
